Any ASHI Chapter, ASHI Member, Organization/Non-Member requesting approval of an offering for continuing education credit must complete this form in its entirety and submit it to ASHI for approval. All documentation must accompany this form for expedient processing. We will return incomplete forms and documentation with a request to supply the missing information.
Approval Responsibility: ASHI Education Department.
Instructions: This procedure and form permit individuals or organizations offering professional inspection education activities to obtain ASHI approval for CEs and to advertise that approval. Completion of ASHI-approved programs enables attendees to claim CEs required for ASHI membership renewal.
Before the Activity: Organizations planning to offer an educational seminar or other professional education activities should complete this form 30 days before the scheduled activity. Please provide a copy or draft of the promotional flyer for this activity. The organizer must ensure that the material presented does not violate the ASHI Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, or good safety practices. ASHI will review course material, speaker qualifications, class length, etc., for content, quality, and relevance to home inspection professionals. ASHI will respond to requests for CE approval within 15 business days of receiving the submission. After ASHI’s approval, you are permitted and encouraged to publicize ASHI’s approval for the specific number of CE.
After the Activity: You are required to keep a list of attendees completing the activity should ASHI be required for CE auditing purposes. The organizer is required to provide a certificate of completion to all attendees that include: the start date, student’s name, course date, number of earned CE, and must be signed by the issuing agency.
