These Committees are looking for new members!
The Bylaws Committee
This committee is for you if you want to facilitate change to improve ASHI’s governance and serve as the intermediary between the membership and the Board of Directors.
The Bylaws Committee handles any questions concerning ASHI bylaws interpretation or suggested changes to the bylaws. The committee also offers suggestions to the Board of Directors about proposed bylaws changes and assists in preparing amendments.
Chapter Relations Committee
The CRC’s primary focus is supporting the chapters and meeting groups in developing new tools, resources, and strategies to help them thrive.
The Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice Committee
The Code of Ethics and the Standard of Practice remain the backbones of our organization. ASHI is looking for methodical and analysis-driven members to keep these documents at the forefront of the profession.
The Code of Ethics and Standard of Practice Committee updates the Code of Ethics, Standard of Practice, and Auxiliary Standards. The committee also proposes new Auxiliary Standards and responds to membership requests for interpretations.
The Complaints Committee
This is an excellent committee if you are someone who wants to help your fellow members get back on track and remain compliant with ASHI policies.
The Complaints Committee reviews and investigates complaints filed against ASHI members concerning ASHI’s intellectual property and unethical conflicts of interest. The committee will also specify possible sanctions or help to resolve the complaints as a result of their findings.
The Education Committee
This is the committee for those of you who are lifelong learners and passionate about creating educational opportunities.
The Education Committee works with ASHI’s Education Department to review and vet educational sessions for conferences and other applications. This includes suggestions for developing an educational curriculum.
Legislation Committee
The committee will empower chapters and members to push bills across the country, ensuring that the members are informed and have the power to influence legislation.
Membership Committee
This committee will primarily focus on working with the Board and the staff to drive new initiatives to attract new members and retain existing ones
What’s the time commitment for committee work?
On average, committee involvement will typically require 1-3 hours of your time per month, depending on the current projects of the committee. Most committees operate on an “as needed” basis, with most of the work done through email or phone correspondence unless the committee chair calls specific meetings.
